Lithium Argentina AG reported an 18% quarter-on-quarter increase in lithium carbonate production at its Cauchari-Olaroz brine project in Q2, reaching 8,500 tonnes, with H1 cumulative output hitting 15,700 tonnes—keeping the operation on track to meet its annual guidance of 30,000-35,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, cash cost per tonne dropped to $6,098 (down 8% QoQ), while Q2 revenue totaled $64 million (average realized price: $7,400/tonne, impacted by declining lithium prices). The company holds a 44.8% stake in the project, with partner Ganfeng Lithium (46.67%) jointly advancing a Phase-2 expansion plan to add 40,000 tonnes/year capacity and applying for tax incentives under Argentina’s RIGI program. Additionally, their 150,000-tonne/year Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes basin projects are in feasibility studies, with financing options—including customer prepurchase agreements—under exploration.
