The company said its P4 series fuel cell system has performed strongly in both domestic and international tests, meeting high standards for reliability and durability.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Following its initial deliveries in February, SHPT (Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd.) has secured a bulk order from a U.S. client for its in-house P4 fuel cell system, marking the start of phased, small-batch shipments. The latest units have now been delivered, supporting its partner's pilot program for hydrogen-powered mobile charging vehicles, according to a press release SHPT issued on August 12 via its WeChat account.

Over the past two years, SHPT has been rapidly converting its technological know-how into competitive strength in global markets. The company said its P4 series fuel cell system has performed strongly in both domestic and international tests, meeting high standards for reliability and durability. The system is also engineered for extreme conditions, functioning efficiently in sub-zero temperatures, high-altitude plateaus, and other challenging environments. This adaptability supports hydrogen mobile charging vehicles in delivering safe, dependable, and efficient power supply, laying the groundwork for wider commercial adoption.

With the U.S. project now underway, SHPT said it is working with partners to accelerate hydrogen-powered mobile charging initiatives in Germany, the UAE, and Switzerland. These efforts target three main use cases: providing supplementary or backup power for electric vehicles and events, delivering emergency electricity during natural disasters or rescue operations, and supplying charging and storage solutions for aging urban areas or remote regions.

By addressing range anxiety and reducing infrastructure investment and maintenance costs, the company aims to position hydrogen mobile charging as a vital component of the energy ecosystem—extending the benefits of hydrogen and clean energy to a broader global audience.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
