The selected models will be equipped with Seyond's Robin E1X LiDAR and are scheduled for mass production in 2026.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese image-grade LiDAR solutions provider Seyond has achieved another major milestone, winning a designated project from one of the world's leading joint-venture automakers, according to a press release issued by Seyond via its WeChat account on August 13. The selected models will be equipped with Seyond's Robin E1X LiDAR and are scheduled for mass production in 2026.

This marks another strategic advance for Seyond in the mainstream passenger vehicle market, underscoring its critical role in the intelligent driving supply chain. Seyond stated that the project also signaled comprehensive recognition of the company from a traditional automotive giant — ranging from technological strength to mass production capability.

The partner, a benchmark joint-venture brand with years of market-leading sales, has granted Seyond exclusive supplier status for this program. The deal secures pre-installation scale of hundreds of thousands units, effectively granting the Robin E1X LiDAR a "mass production passport" from a top-tier global automaker. Seyond also said that the project further highlighted the product's maturity and cost competitiveness, paving the way for broader adoption among mainstream carmakers.

The Robin E1X LiDAR offers a maximum detection range of 250 meters, providing ample safety redundancy for high-speed NOA (Navigation on Autopilot). Its 0.1°×0.1° image-grade resolution allows precise identification of small, distant objects, avoiding the pitfalls of "seeing but not recognizing". With power consumption of just 6W and an ultra-compact design, engineers can integrate the unit easily into various vehicle locations, such as the roof or bumper, without compromising thermal management or aesthetics.

Seyond has built a dual product lineup spanning 1,550nm and 905nm wavelengths. The 1,550nm Falcon series targets the high-end market, offering longer detection ranges and higher safety thresholds, and has already shipped over 500,000 units across all NIO models, proving itself in L3 conditional autonomous driving. The 905nm Robin series targets the mass market, leveraging cost advantages and a mature architecture to unlock higher sales potential, support automakers in upgrading intelligent perception capabilities, and help implement new AEBS regulations.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
