[SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Continue to Rise Sharply on August 13]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price was 80,946 yuan/mt, up 2,822 yuan/mt MoM from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 79,000 to 83,000 yuan/mt, with an average price of 81,000 yuan/mt, up 3,000 yuan/mt MoM from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 78,100 to 79,500 yuan/mt, with an average price of 78,800 yuan/mt, up 3,000 yuan/mt MoM from the previous working day.
From the transaction perspective, most enterprises still maintained a wait-and-see sentiment. However, due to the just-in-time procurement needs of some downstream enterprises and the general reluctance to sell among upstream suppliers and traders, the price center of spot lithium carbonate transaction prices continued to rise sharply. Considering the expected tightening of lithium carbonate supply and the peak demand season, it is anticipated that there is still room for spot lithium carbonate prices to rise.
