Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has planned that the mandatory biodiesel program, comprising 50 percent crude palm oil (CPO) and 50 percent diesel (B50), will be implemented starting in 2026. Deputy Minister of ESDM Yuliot Tanjung said the government is currently evaluating the rollout of the B40 program, which began in 2025. The evaluation also serves as part of the preparations for the B50 launch early next year.
“We are evaluating the implementation of B40 this year, and we hope the B50 program can be introduced next year as instructed, at the beginning of the year,” Yuliot said on Saturday (August 9, 2025).
