Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 11, Orbbec Inc. ("ORBBEC") signed a cooperation agreement in Beijing with Horizon Robotics and its subsidiary DiGua Robotics to expand collaboration in intelligent robotics, according to a post on Horizon Robotics' WeChat account. The partnership aims to leverage the companies' respective strengths in technology and products to accelerate innovation and bring more advanced robotics solutions into real-world use.

ORBBEC is a leading developer of robotic vision and AI visual technologies, and among the earliest Chinese companies to focus on specialized robotics applications. With more than two decades of in-house R&D and nearly a decade of deployment experience, the company is one of the few able to deliver a complete portfolio of proprietary 3D vision perception products. It is also among a select group worldwide to cover six major 3D vision technology pathways, serving over 3,000 clients globally and holding more than 70% of China's service robot 3D vision market share.

Horizon Robotics owns DiGua Robotics, a leading provider of universal robotics hardware and software platforms. DiGua Robotics' infrastructure supports cutting-edge embodied AI research, smart consumer electronics upgrades, and the incubation of emerging robot categories. Its product ecosystem spans chips, algorithms, and software, enabling full-stack computing and development for humanoids, quadrupeds, home service robots, companions, and logistics AMRs. To date, over 200 startups, more than 200 leading universities, and nearly 100,000 individual developers from over 20 countries have used DiGua Robotics' platform to create hundreds of robotic designs, delivering smart experiences to more than five million users worldwide.

The two companies began working together in 2022, jointly launching 3D vision solutions for service and cleaning robots. Building on this foundation of trust and collaboration, the new agreement is set to deepen their ecosystem partnership, fostering mutual business growth and long-term shared benefits.

Under the deal, ORBBEC will contribute its expertise in 3D vision sensors and robotics algorithms, while DiGua Robotics will bring its strengths in robotics-focused chips and foundational hardware-software architecture. The collaboration will extend across technical solutions, product applications, market expansion, and ecosystem development.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
