Announcement on Adjustment of Domestic Futures Selling Price for Sheets & Plates of Baosteel in September 2025

After research and deliberation, Baosteel announces the adjustment of domestic sales prices for sheets & plates in September 2025, based on the prices in August 2025 (all prices are exclusive of tax unless otherwise specified):  
 

I. Hot-rolled Steel  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

II. Heavy Plate  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

III. Pickled Steel  

The base price is increased by 300 yuan/mt.  
 

IV. Cold-rolled Steel  

The base price is increased by 300 yuan/mt.  
 

V. Hot-dip Galvanized Steel  

The base price is increased by 300 yuan/mt.  
 

VI. Electro-galvanized Steel  

The base price is increased by 300 yuan/mt.  
 

VII. Chalco Zn-Al-Mg Alloy  

The base price is increased by 300 yuan/mt.       

VIII. High-Aluminum Zn-Al-Mg Alloy  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.
 

IX. Aluminum-Zinc Alloy Coated Steel  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.
 

X. Color-coated Steel  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XI. Non-oriented Electrical Steel  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XII. Oriented Electrical Steel  

The base price remains unchanged.  
 

XIII. Seamless Steel Pipe  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XIV. Welded Steel Pipe  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XV. Wire Rod  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XVI. Bar Steel  

The base price is increased by 200 yuan/mt.  
 

XVII. For details on alloy premiums and adjustments to coating and plating premiums, please refer to the price list for September 2025.  
 

XVIII. This price adjustment notice shall come into effect from the date of its announcement.

This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
