






This week's recycling developments are as follows:
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 48,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Officially Launched Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Meizhou City, Guangdong Province issued an approval announcement for the Environmental Impact Assessment Report of the "New Project for Annual Processing of 48,000 mt Scrap Lithium Batteries (Phase II)", marking the project's entry into the substantive implementation phase. With an investment of 651 million yuan, this project will effectively enhance regional power battery recycling capacity and inject new momentum into the industry's sustainable development. Undertaken by Meizhou Guangxinrui Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., the project can process scrap ternary battery packs, scrap LFP battery packs, scrap LCO battery packs, and various pole piece scraps. Among these, 30,000 mt of raw materials are sourced from the Phase I project, while an additional 10,000 mt of scrap batteries and 8,000 mt of scrap pole pieces are obtained through external procurement.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 8,000 mt Scrap Ternary Battery Black Mass Heat Treatment Production Line Announced Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Tongren City, Guizhou Province released a pre-approval public notice for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the "Rotary Kiln (Ternary Battery Black Mass Heat Treatment Equipment) Construction Project" by Guizhou Hongxing Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. This project will provide new impetus for the resource recycling of the local new energy industry.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 30,000 mt Retired Power Battery Second-Life and Disassembly Recycling Project Launched in Tongliao Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia issued a pre-approval public notice for the "New Energy Disassembly Recycling Project" by Tongliao Changtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. This project brings new opportunities for the development of the local new energy industry and highlights Tongliao's forward-looking layout in the green energy sector. The current phase of the project focuses on multiple areas, including the construction of second-life application and disassembly recycling workshops for retired power batteries. Upon completion, it will enable the annual second-life utilization of 10,000 mt retired lithium-ion batteries and the disassembly and crushing of 20,000 mt scrap lithium-ion batteries.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Lanzhou City Upgrades 5,000 mt Scrap Lithium-Ion Battery Resource Recycling Production Line Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province announced the approval decision for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the "5kt/a Scrap Lithium-Ion Battery Resource Recycling Production Line Product Upgrade and Quality Improvement Project" by Lanzhou Jinchuan Technology Park Co., Ltd. This project is of great significance to the development of the local new energy industry. Located in the Lanzhou Jinchuan Technology Park in Heping Town, Yuzhong County, this technological transformation project involves upgrading the existing 5kt/a scrap lithium-ion battery resource recycling production line. The goal is to achieve an annual output of 500 mt higher-grade lithium carbonate products.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 60,000 mt NEV Retired Power Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project InitiatedRecently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Guangzhou headquarters project of Guangdong Province's New Energy Circular Economy Zero-Carbon Smart Industrial Park was officially held at Chini Industrial Park in Huadu District, Guangzhou. This landmark event has attracted widespread attention, injecting new vitality into the new energy industry development in Guangdong and across the nation. The project covers a net land area of 60 mu (4 hectares) with a total construction area of 131,000 m². The first phase involves a total investment of 750 million yuan, meticulously planned and constructed in accordance with national zero-carbon industrial park and green factory standards. It includes the establishment of a 2GWh new-type ESS intelligent manufacturing center, an annual 60,000 mt comprehensive utilization center for end-of-life NEV power batteries, an annual 20,000 mt recycling center for retired solar panels, a carbon neutrality research institute, a scientific research center, and an academician workstation, among other facilities.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Changchun's 10,000 mt Lithium Battery Scrap Recycling Project Announced Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Changchun City, Jilin Province, released the acceptance announcement for the "Changchun Zongxu Huayou Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Annual 10,000 mt Lithium Battery Scrap Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization Construction Project." The advancement of this project marks a significant step forward for Changchun in the field of new energy battery recycling. Located east of Jianjiu Street in Luyuan District, Changchun, the project plans to construct one production line for preprocessing and powdering scrap lithium-ion battery cells and pole piece scrap, as well as one slurry production line. Upon completion, the facility will have an annual processing capacity of 10,000 mt of lithium battery scrap, 2,700 mt of cathode waste liquid, and 300 mt of powder material.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Nanjing's 80,000 mt End-of-Life Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Recently, Jiangsu Environmental Protection Network published the second environmental impact assessment public notice for the "Nanjing Public Ganfeng Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. End-of-Life Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project." The construction of this project has drawn considerable attention and is expected to inject strong momentum into Nanjing's circular economy development. Located in the Liuhe Circular Economy Industrial Park in Liuhe District, Nanjing, the project involves a total investment of 500 million yuan. It is planned in two phases: Phase 1 will have an annual comprehensive processing capacity of 20,000 mt of end-of-life battery packs (including 18,000 mt of LFP and 2,000 mt of ternary) and 10,000 mt of jelly rolls (5,000 mt each of LFP and ternary). Phase 2 will further enhance the processing capacity to 60,000 mt of end-of-life battery packs annually (including 54,000 mt of LFP and 6,000 mt of ternary) and 10,000 mt of jelly rolls (5,000 mt each of LFP and ternary). Additionally, new workshops and supporting facilities will be constructed to meet operational requirements.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Bengbu's 10,000 mt-Level Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Announced Recently, the Management Committee of Bengbu Economic and Technological Development Zone in Anhui Province released the first environmental impact assessment public disclosure for the "Anhui Chengrui Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Scrap Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project," marking a significant step for Bengbu in the field of new energy recycling. Located in the Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Bengbu Economic and Technological Development Zone, the project is planned in three phases. Phase 1 focuses on second-life applications for power batteries, with an annual processing scale of 7,000 mt; Phase 2 involves the dismantling and utilization of scrap batteries and pole pieces, with an annual processing scale of 3,000 mt; and Phase 3 will establish a smart factory. The implementation of this project adds new momentum to Bengbu's green development.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Xiajiang County's 30,000 mt Retired Lithium Battery Processing Project AnnouncedRecently, the People's Government of Xiajiang County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province released the public participation announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the "Jiangxi Huili New Material Co., Ltd. Annual Dismantling of 15,000 Retired NEVs and Annual Processing of 30,000 mt Scrap Lithium Battery Project." The advancement of this project has attracted significant attention and is expected to inject new momentum into the green development of the new energy industry both locally and nationally.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 17,000 mt Lithium Battery Cathode Scrap Processing Project Arrives in Tongren City, Guizhou Recently, the Tongren City Ecological Environment Bureau in Guizhou Province issued a preliminary approval announcement for the environmental impact assessment documents of the "Huicheng Battery New Material Industrial Park Phase III Project." The progress of this project holds great significance for the development of Tongren's new energy industry. According to reports, Guizhou Dalong Huicheng New Material Co., Ltd. will construct an annual processing line for 17,000 mt of lithium battery cathode scrap and pole piece scrap, co-processing MHP, scrap aluminum electrolyte, and other raw recovery materials to produce new-type sodium-ion battery and LMFP cathode high-performance materials. Additionally, the project will include production lines for 7,000 mt/year of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 6,500 mt/year of battery-grade ferromanganese phosphate, 5,500 mt/year of battery-grade iron phosphate, 1,500 mt/year of electrodeposited cobalt, 860 mt/year of electrodeposited nickel, 2,700 mt/year of calcium fluoride, 117,000 mt/year of anhydrous sodium sulfate, and 10,000 mt/year of ammonium sulfate, along with ancillary facilities.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 5,000 mt LFP New Energy Material Project Launched The "Annual Production of 5,000 mt Nano LFP New Energy Material Project," invested by Guangxi Annaizhe New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (formerly Yulin Lanke Automotive Environmental Protection Material Co., Ltd.), is located in Yulin City, Guangxi, and represents a key project in the local new energy materials industry. Since its initiation in 2016, the project has undergone multiple planning adjustments and approval announcements. Below is a summary of key information.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 600,000 mt Iron Phosphate Project Launched in Bijie, Guizhou On July 23, the Zhijin Branch of the Bijie City Ecological Environment Bureau released the first information announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the Guizhou Bijie Phosphorus-Coal Chemical Integration Project (Phase I) Annual Production of 600,000 mt Iron Phosphate Project.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 17 Billion Yuan LFP Cathode Material Project Arrives The project has a total investment of approximately 17 billion yuan (including 5.8 billion yuan in fixed assets) and covers a total land area of 635 mu. It plans to construct new LFP production workshops, along with supporting facilities such as nitrogen generation stations, spare parts warehouses/repair workshops, testing buildings, cooling circulation water systems, and office facilities, aiming to build a complete 400,000 mt/year LFP cathode material production line. According to the phased planning, the project will be constructed in four phases, with each phase targeting a capacity of 100,000 mt.
