The event marked a new milestone in the deepening strategic partnership between the two companies.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 8, Chinese new energy vehicle Leapmotor and European roll-on/roll-off shipping giant Grimaldi Group held a naming and inaugural delivery ceremony in Shanghai for the "GRANDE TIANJIN", according to a post on Leapmotor's WeChat account. The event marked a new milestone in the deepening strategic partnership between the two companies. The purpose-built car carrier will soon set sail for Europe with over 2,500 Leapmotor vehicles on board.

Leapmotor International CEO Xin Tianshu highlighted the moment as a symbol of China's EV innovation going global, with Leapmotor at the forefront of this wave. Thanks to strong partnerships like that with Grimaldi, the company has expanded its reach to more than 30 countries and regions, supported by a global network of over 1,500 sales and service outlets, and has delivered over 800,000 vehicles to date.

Grimaldi Group has served as Leapmotor's logistics partner since 2022, offering a monthly capacity of up to 22,500 Car Equivalent Units (CEUs) for ro-ro shipments from Asia to Europe—ensuring stable and large-scale transport capacity for Leapmotor's overseas operations.

As of the end of July 2025, Leapmotor's cumulative sales for the year reached 271,793 units, representing a year-on-year spike of 149%—the highest in its history. In July alone, the company delivered 50,129 vehicles across its lineup.

Leapmotor began its overseas expansion in 2024. Its current global portfolio includes the compact T03 and the mid-size C10, available in both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) versions. Notably, the company is preparing to launch its first B-series global model—the Leapmotor B10—in September 2025. Developed to international standards, the B10 will embody Leapmotor's mission of delivering accessible, cutting-edge EV technology to a worldwide audience.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
