SMM August 8th News: This week, the bismuth market continued to show a weak downward trend. The market remains in the traditional off-season of summer, with overall trading activity in July being subdued and both buyers and sellers showing little enthusiasm, particularly due to weak downstream restocking demand.Entering August, a recent bismuth ingot auction by a manufacturer failed twice, further dampening market confidence. Many market participants noted that the current situation of weak supply and demand persists—raw materials remain tight, and supply constraints continue. However, inventory levels have been gradually rising, which is why some manufacturers are actively auctioning stock to reduce their inventories, a key priority at the moment. As of the end of this week, the mainstream SMM bismuth ingot price stood at 118,000–119,000 yuan per ton.
