Alba Reports Significant Revenue Decline Amid Global Economic Slowdown

Published: Aug 7, 2025 22:45
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) have reported a decrease in revenue since last year.
In its report on the second quarter of 2025, Alba reported that its total comprehensive income stood at BD21.9 million ($58.1 million), versus the second quarter of 2024 at BD66.7 million ($177.4 million): a decrease of 67% year-over-year.
In the first half of 2025, Alba has also reported a profit of BD42.7 million ($113.5 million), down by 54% year-over-year when compared to the first half of 2024 where Alba profited BD93 million ($247.3 million).
This decrease in revenue was partly due to the global economic landscape’s slower growth rates, with tariffs causing market uncertainty and threatening global demand.
Global aluminium supply growth was also limited in Q2, with only marginal increases from smelter restarts and expansions.
Despite market uncertainty, Alba reported sales volume of 411,007 MT, an increase of 3.4% year-over-year. Net finished production remained flat at 402,912 MT.
