Built around a new design philosophy the automaker refers to as Liu Guang Aesthetics, the Binguo S is set to hit the Chinese market in the third quarter of this year.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") has officially unveiled the Binguo S under the Wuling brand, a compact all-electric SUV designed to deliver what the brand calls a "premium, colorful driving experience." Built around a new design philosophy the automaker refers to as "Liu Guang Aesthetics," the Binguo S is set to hit the Chinese market in the third quarter of this year.

According to SGMW, the "S" in Binguo S stands for "Shift," symbolizing the car's role in helping users transition seamlessly between life's various moments and experiences. Positioned not just as a mode of transport but as a lifestyle companion, the Binguo S aims to turn every journey into a vibrant chapter in the user's personal story—where every turn holds a view, and every transition carries meaning.

The Binguo S showcases a refreshed design language that blends style and boldness. At the front, sharp body lines are paired with C-shaped LED headlights inspired by the wings of Wuling's logo, creating a striking "flying wing" lighting signature. The trapezoidal grille and flanking air intakes further amplify the SUV's dynamic and sporty character.

Built with a five-door, five-seat configuration, the Binguo S measures 4,265 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height. SGMW highlights what it calls a "tailored aesthetic proportion," with vehicle height and wheelbase designed for optimal balance. The carefully calculated L113 measurement—referring to the distance from the front wheel center to the brake pedal—aligns with the front overhang to enhance the SUV's visual elegance and dynamic posture.

At the rear, the model features a full-width taillight design dubbed the "Pulsar Ring," with a red light bar flanked by pulse-style detailing on both sides. A black spoiler crowns the tail, adding depth and visual layering to the vehicle's rear profile.

Four color options are offered—Relaxed Grey, Easy Blue, Free-Spirit Purple, and Blank White—each evoking a sense of calm and individuality. The body is finished with an eight-layer coating process, designed to enhance corrosion resistance, improve aging durability, and deliver a richer, more vibrant color tone.

Under the hood, the Binguo S is powered by an electric motor delivering up to 75 kW. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which is expected to offer a balance between durability and cost-efficiency—though specific range figures have yet to be disclosed.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
