Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 6, Hesai Technology, a Chinese LiDAR solution provider, announced a strategic partnership with Vbot, China’s first consumer-grade embodied intelligence company. The collaboration aims to transform robotic perception systems by integrating LiDAR and artificial intelligence, enabling robots to see with precision and interact with agility. This alliance is expected to accelerate the commercialization of embodied intelligence and bring to market intelligent companion robots.

LiDAR remains one of the most critical sensors for three-dimensional perception, often described as the "eyes" of a robot. Its ability to actively detect surroundings, deliver high-precision mapping, and resist interference provides robots with superior spatial awareness. Hesai said this technology not only allows robots to detect and avoid obstacles for enhanced safety but also supports real-time path planning for higher efficiency. These dual benefits of safety and productivity are helping robots evolve beyond factories and specialized environments into households and community services, shifting their role from industrial tools to everyday companions.

As AI and robotics converge, LiDAR is extending its reach from autonomous driving into broader robotic applications. The partnership between Hesai and Vbot marks a significant step toward completing the "perception–decision–execution" loop in robotics and signals a future where intelligent robots deliver greater value in everyday life. Both companies plan to continue advancing LiDAR-AI integration to free humans from repetitive tasks and accelerate society's transition into a more intelligent era.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
