Responding to whether the magnetic button can be used outside the car, Xiaomi EV explained that it can be placed anywhere at home.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 5, Xiaomi EV released via its WeChat account the 190th episode of its "Ask Xiaomi EV" Q&A series, addressing questions about the functionality of its magnetic physical button, as well as how to adjust the height and brightness of the YU7's HyperVision Panoramic Display.

Responding to whether the magnetic button can be used outside the car, Xiaomi EV explained that it can be placed anywhere at home—such as on the entryway wall, refrigerator, or bedside. The button integrates with the Mi Home ecosystem, allowing control through the Mi Home app and connectivity with other IoT devices. With a single press, users can activate preset smart home scenarios, such as turning on lights, starting the air conditioner, or closing the curtains.

The company also revealed that the button can remotely control certain in-car functions from home, such as pre-cooling the cabin or activating seat ventilation, so the vehicle is ready and comfortable upon entry. Users can configure these functions by adding the device through the Mi Home app. For home use, the button requires integration with a Bluetooth Mesh gateway or Bluetooth hub to ensure proper connectivity.

As for the adjustments of the YU7's HyperVision Panoramic Display, Xiaomi EV stated that users can modify brightness and height through the central control screen by navigating to Settings > Display > HUD > HUD Height & Brightness Adjustment. Brightness can be adjusted using the left and right buttons on the steering wheel's right-side controls, while height is modified by scrolling the same control wheel up or down. Alternatively, users can rely on Xiaomi's voice assistant by issuing commands such as, "Xiao Ai, make the HUD brighter."

Finally, Xiaomi EV reminded users that the HUD's brightness is automatically adjusted based on ambient lighting, detected by the sunlight and rain sensor located at the top of the windshield. To ensure accurate detection, users should keep this area clean and unobstructed.
