[Ball Corp. lifts 2025 outlook; tariff hit contained]
Ball Corporation surpassed Q2 forecasts and increased its comparable earnings growth goal for 2025 to 12-15% (previously 11-14%) due to accelerated global aluminum can shipments of +4.1% year over year. Revenue increased 7.8% to $3.34 billion, and adjusted EPS reached $0.90 (consensus was $0.87), pushing shares up ~2% pre-market.
Management said that U.S. steel-and-aluminium tariffs are pushing input costs higher. However, the direct impact is "manageable" because most of the supply is contracted at fixed premiums, and the company is negotiating pass-throughs and hedging with customers, such as PepsiCo and Coca-Cola. CEO Daniel Fisher added that tight cost control should offset any aluminum premium volatility and geopolitical risks expected in the second half of the year.
