【SMM New Energy News Flash】A new battery recycling expansion project in Jiangxi Province has been proposed for approval, with a planned capacity to process 14,000 tons of waste lithium iron phosphate cells annually. Located in the Xinyu High-Tech Zone and backed by an investment of 2.72 million yuan, the project will utilize environmentally friendly processes such as manual dismantling, crushing, and grinding. Once operational, it will enhance the region’s capacity for efficient and safe battery material recycling, supporting the green development of the local new energy industry. Jiangxi Province has been actively promoting the battery recycling sector through policy incentives and industrial cluster development. As the first generation of EV batteries reaches end-of-life, and with increasing government subsidies encouraging vehicle replacement, the demand for battery recycling is growing rapidly. Projects like this align with national carbon goals and play a key role in advancing a sustainable and circular new energy ecosystem.
