According to SMM, due to the impact of the US tariff hike on copper semi-finished products, some domestic copper processing material export orders to the US are under pressure. A copper pipe & tube enterprise revealed that goods arriving in the US on August 5 (Beijing time) had been subject to an additional 50% tariff. Combined with the previous tariffs, the comprehensive tariff on copper pipe & tube exports to the US reached 97%. The high tariffs have led to a rise in the price of finished copper pipe & tube products in the US. The enterprise's US customers have suspended the execution of subsequent unsigned orders, and domestic copper pipe & tube enterprises are facing a direct impact on their export orders.
