【SMM Lithium Battery Recycling】48,000-ton Waste Lithium Battery Resource Utilization Project Formally Launched
Recently, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, issued an approval announcement for the Environmental Impact Report of the "New Project for Annual Processing of 48,000 Tons of Waste Lithium Batteries for Resource Utilization (Phase II)", marking the project's entry into the substantive implementation stage. With an investment of 651 million yuan, this project will effectively enhance the regional capacity for power battery recycling and processing, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of the industry. Undertaken by a company, it can process waste ternary lithium battery packs, waste lithium iron phosphate battery packs, waste lithium cobalt oxide battery packs, and various pole piece scraps. Among these, 30,000 tons of raw materials come from the Phase I project, while an additional 10,000 tons of waste batteries and 8,000 tons of waste pole pieces are sourced through external procurement.
