






Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 30, IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle brand co-backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, staged a high-profile launch at Sydney's White Bay Cruise Terminal, unveiling the IM5 and IM6—international versions of the IM L6 and LS6 models—as its first offerings in the Australian market. Both models start at AUD 60,990, roughly RMB 284,500.
The first shipment of vehicles is already en route, with large-scale customer deliveries scheduled to begin in early September. IM Motors has also established a national footprint of more than 60 experience centers across Australia, offering end-to-end purchase and after-sales support.
Both models are equipped with the IM AD driver-assistance system, co-developed with autonomous driving tech firm Momenta and built on the latter's Flywheel Big Model architecture. This launch marks the system's debut in the Southern Hemisphere.
With their blend of cutting-edge technology and adaptive performance, the IM5 and IM6 aim to resonate with Australia's vast geography and lifestyle. IM Motors said both models promise a premium intelligent mobility experience, combining dynamic driving, urban agility, advanced driver-assistance, and high-end cabin comfort. Key innovations include the Agile Lizard Digital Chassis and intelligent four-wheel steering, which deliver exceptional maneuverability—especially suited for navigating Sydney's tight inner-city streets. Features like "one-tap AI valet" and "rainy night mode" further enhance everyday convenience through intelligent automation.
The Australian launch is the latest milestone in IM Motors' accelerated global rollout. Since the start of the year, the brand has expanded into key international markets, including Southeast Asia, Mexico, the Middle East, Hong Kong, the UK, and now Australia.
