Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 29, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Li Auto officially launched the Li i8, its first all-electric SUV, onto the market, coming with three trim levels priced from 321,800 yuan to 369,800 yuan.

Notably, the starting price matches that of the company's extended-range Li L8, underlining Li Auto’s intent to offer competitive pricing in its expanding lineup.

Li Auto Chairman and CEO Mr. Li Xiang described the i8 as a "compact version of the MEGA Home," giving buyers who admire the brand’s flagship MEGA model a more accessible alternative.

The entry-level Pro variant is priced at 321,800 yuan and features a 90.1 kWh ternary-lithium 5C ultra-fast charging battery. It delivers a CLTC-rated range of 670 km and comes equipped with Li Auto's AD Pro driver assistance system. Customers who place an order before midnight on September 7 will receive launch benefits worth 33,900 yuan.

The mid-range Max version is priced at 349,800 yuan and upgrades to a 97.8 kWh ternary-lithium 5C ultra-fast charging battery, extending the CLTC range to 720 km. It adds Li Auto's AD Max advanced driver assistance system and the in-car AI assistant "Lixiang Tongxue." Early buyers will receive launch perks worth 51,900 yuan.

The top-spec Ultra variant, priced at 369,800 yuan, shares the Max version's battery and 720 km range but retains premium features such as AD Max and the Li Auto AI agent. Buyers who reserve before September 7 will also receive the same 51,900-yuan launch package.

Deliveries of the Li i8 are set to begin on August 20.

Mr. Li Xiang noted that the Li i8's yacht-inspired design lowers aerodynamic drag and energy consumption while maximizing interior space and visibility. He emphasized that the new model blends the cabin comfort of an MPV, the versatility of an SUV, and the driving dynamics of a sedan.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
