[Slowdown in infrastructure investment growth is a short-term disturbance]
According to Securities Times, in the first half of this year (H1), narrowly defined infrastructure investment (excluding electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply industries) under the statistical scope of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) increased by 4.6% YoY, pulling back by 1 percentage point compared to the first five months.
Given that there were no abnormalities in the availability of funds for the month, experts and scholars generally attributed the slowdown in infrastructure investment growth to short-term disturbances caused by extreme weather and price factors. As fiscal efforts intensify to stabilize growth in the second half of the year (H2), with the commencement of a new batch of major projects and the support of incremental policies such as new-type policy-based financial instruments, infrastructure investment growth will still maintain resilience.
