According to data provided by the top ten ports in the US, there has been a notable decline in the number of inbound containers in the US recently. In particular, the number of inbound containers fell by 6.6% and 7.9% YoY in May and June respectively, marking the first negative growth in Q2 since 2020. It is worth mentioning that in April, many enterprises accelerated their procurement to build up inventory for the coming months in anticipation of the upcoming tariff measures, driving an increase in the number of inbound containers at that time. However, this growth effect has now been completely exhausted, and the significant decline in May and June has fully offset the previous growth momentum.
