The collaboration combines complementary strengths in autonomous driving and industrial resource management to scale up the deployment of next-generation green mining solutions.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 28, MINIEYE and Chongqing Renewable Resources Group announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development of intelligent and sustainable mining operations. The collaboration combines complementary strengths in autonomous driving and industrial resource management to scale up the deployment of next-generation green mining solutions.

Targeting long-standing challenges in conventional mining—such as high energy use, emissions, and labor shortages—the partnership will prioritize the rollout of new energy heavy-duty trucks and smart fleet management systems. MINIEYE's experience in autonomous driving R&D and mass production will enable the integration of advanced technologies across complex scenarios, including intra-mine logistics, unmanned convoy operations, and bulk goods transport, paving the way for fully automated, driverless mining environments.

Beyond automation, the two companies are also working to build a next-generation green transport infrastructure. By integrating solar power, energy storage, and charging networks, they aim to create a clean, cost-effective, and low-carbon ecosystem to support large-scale intelligent fleets and mining operations. This integrated approach is expected to significantly reduce long-term operating costs while delivering both environmental and economic benefits.

As global energy systems shift and digitalization gains momentum, mining—long a backbone of national economies—is entering a pivotal phase of transformation. In China, top-down policy is also pushing for faster upgrades. In 2024, the government released its first set of mandatory targets for smart mine development, underscoring the strategic urgency of intelligent, safer mining infrastructure.

MINIEYE Chairman Liu Guoqing described the partnership as a critical move to capitalize on emerging market opportunities through the deep integration of technological and industrial strengths. He added that the company will continue to innovate with holistic hardware-software solutions to set new benchmarks for safety, efficiency, and intelligence in mining logistics.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
