Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 25, AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Changan Automobile, launched its AVATR 11 SUV in Singapore at an event held at Capella Singapore. The model went on sale with a starting price of S$278,999 (approximately 1.56 million yuan).
The launch also featured the Singapore debut of the AVATR 012, a limited-edition, co-designed model, with only 700 units available globally.
According to Mr. Shen Xinghua, General Manager of Changan Automobile's Southeast Asia Division, the AVATR 11 will serve as the spearhead for the brand's entry into the Singapore market. "We will continue to bring a broader range of products to Singapore to meet the diverse and multi-scenario needs of local users," Mr. Shen said. He emphasized that AVATR will leverage its local distribution partner, Premium Group, to offer a differentiated premium mobility experience. Premium Group has extensive experience in the sales and operation of high-end vehicles in Singapore.
AVATR's first experience store in Singapore is scheduled to open on August 1 at UOB Plaza. Its first brand showroom—developed in collaboration with British audio brand Meridian Audio—is expected to open in the third quarter of 2025.
Designed by AVATR's chief designer Nader, the AVATR 11 boasts a futuristic interior featuring a triple-screen cockpit, zero-gravity seats, Meridian audio system, and a full suite of premium finishes, including NAPPA leather, a panoramic sunroof, and a 256-color ambient lighting system.
Performance-wise, the AVATR 11 features a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup delivering 230 kW of maximum power. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and supports 800V fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% charge in just 15 to 25 minutes.
The AVATR 012, also unveiled at the event, is the brand's second model in the "0" series. Co-designed by Nader and renowned fashion designer Kim Jones, the model blends avant-garde aesthetics with intelligent automotive technology.
The Singapore launch of the AVATR 11 marks the brand's first official entry into the local market and builds on its earlier expansion into Thailand. It also follows the brand's move into Hong Kong's right-hand-drive (RHD) market, further solidifying its strategic footprint in the RHD segment.
Since launching its global strategy in 2024, AVATR has been accelerating its push into four major international regions: ASEAN, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America. By 2025, the company aims to enter 50 countries and regions, with plans to begin its European expansion in 2026. Over the next three years, AVATR expects to establish nearly 3,000 physical and digital sales and service touchpoints across five continents.
