Indonesia’s automotive industry is expanding exports to offset a continuous decline in domestic sales caused by weaker purchasing power and slowing economic growth. Gaikindo data show that from January to June Indonesia exported 233,648 complete vehicles, up 7 % YoY, while domestic sales dropped 8.6 % to 374,740 units, extending the slide that began in 2023.
