Li Bin, founder of NIO, announced that the battery swapping network along the G1 Beijing-Harbin Expressway has been fully connected. The expressway, completed on September 20, 2021, spans 1,229 kilometers and features 21 battery swapping stations, connecting Beijing, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang provinces and cities, and linking the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with the central and southern Liaoning urban agglomeration. As one of the earliest expressways built in China, the G1 Beijing-Harbin Expressway has been open to traffic for over 20 years. It serves as a rapid passage for the three northeastern provinces to enter and exit the Shanhaiguan Pass, and is also a crucial transportation artery connecting North China. NIO Energy has built over 8,000 charging and battery swapping stations nationwide, including over 3,400 battery swapping stations and over 4,600 charging stations, ranking first in the industry in terms of layout scale. Li Bin stated that the battery swapping process takes as little as 2 minutes and 24 seconds, with users not needing to exit their vehicles or disconnect from the power grid during the entire process. The expansion of this network has further enhanced the convenience of travel.
