Low Carbon Signs PPA for 300MW UK Solar Projects

Low Carbon and SmartestEnergy have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) covering 300MW of UK solar capacity.

Low Carbon and SmartestEnergy have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) covering 300MW of UK solar capacity. The deal includes eight projects awarded Contracts for Difference (CfDs) in Allocation Round 4 (AR4) and three from AR5.

Most AR4 projects are operational, with AR5 projects scheduled to commence in April 2028. Confirmed sites include Adstock, St Clere's, Inkersall Road, Crouch, Links (AR4), and Fern Brook, Birch (AR5). Two projects remain undisclosed.

This extends the companies' partnership dating to 2013. Low Carbon's power management head stated PPAs help manage price risks.
