Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the morning of July 24, Baolong Automotive ("Baolong") and JAC Group formalized a new phase of their long-standing partnership with the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement at JAC's headquarters in Hefei. The agreement marks a deepened commitment to co-developing next-generation automotive technologies while strengthening supply chain integration and innovation capabilities.

Baolong's collaboration with JAC dates back to 2009, initially centering around tire valves. Over time, the scope has broadened significantly to encompass smart suspension components—such as air springs, air reservoirs, height sensors, and air supply systems—as well as safety and perception technologies including tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and rain-light sensors.

Under the newly signed agreement, the two companies will elevate their cooperation to a strategic supply chain level. They plan to establish real-time information-sharing mechanisms, streamline communication, and conduct regular technical exchanges. The goal is to jointly set industry benchmarks in process engineering and product quality while collaborating on future-facing technologies such as smart suspension systems, intelligent driving assistance, sensor development, and supply chain security.

Baolong said it has committed to ongoing investment in core areas including intelligent suspension, TPMS, sensors, and driver assistance technologies. The company aims to closely align its R&D efforts with JAC's engineering teams to ensure precise integration with JAC's vehicle development needs. Baolong also plans to share its latest innovations in smart and lightweight components, supporting JAC's ambition to maintain a competitive edge across its model lineup.

To safeguard supply chain resilience, Baolong will prioritize JAC's needs at its Hefei manufacturing base, enabling localized production of key components. On the cost side, both parties will collaborate on value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) initiatives to enhance product competitiveness in the market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
