According to SMM, as of June 2024, Gansu's power grid has achieved a breakthrough in new energy storage installations, exceeding 6 GW with a 2.3-hour continuous discharge capacity. This represents a 65.64% year-on-year growth, ranking 5th nationally in installed capacity. In the first half of this year, Gansu's new energy storage had a maximum charging power of 3.63 million kilowatts, a charging electricity volume of 1.642 billion kilowatt-hours, and increased the utilization rate of new energy by 2.8 percentage points; the maximum discharging power was 3.91 million kilowatts, equivalent to the peak capacity of 4 million-kilowatt thermal power units. The comprehensive utilization hours of energy storage were 676 hours, ranking sixth in the country.
