Ministers and representatives from the UK Cabinet have announced the terms for the upcoming auction of subsidy contracts for renewable energy projects this year. The UK government has once again raised the cap on electricity prices that developers planning to build new wind power projects can receive. These projects will be completed in the coming years, highlighting the challenges faced by the UK government in reducing household electricity costs. To drive the achievement of its clean energy goals, the UK government aims to make this auction the largest one to date. The maximum guaranteed price for offshore wind developers will be £113 per megawatt hour (approximately 1,097.6 yuan), up from £102 per megawatt hour (approximately 990.75 yuan) last year. The maximum price for onshore wind has increased from £89 per megawatt hour (approximately 864.5 yuan) to £92 per megawatt hour (approximately 894 yuan). All these prices are for 2024.
