Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 24, NIO Inc. ("NIO") marked a major production milestone with the rollout of its 800,000th mass-produced vehicle at the company's advanced manufacturing facility in Hefei, according to a post on the company's WeChat account.
The milestone vehicle is an ONVO L90 SUV under NIO's new sub-brand ONVO that targets the broader family electric vehicle (EV) segment.
The achievement comes at a pivotal time for NIO as it expands its product portfolio and deepens its presence in China's increasingly competitive EV market. In a statement accompanying the milestone, the company framed the 800,000-unit mark as a "new beginning," underscoring its long-term commitment to product innovation, user-centric service, and sustained delivery growth. NIO is now aiming to reach the one-million-unit threshold in the near future.
The ONVO L90, which will hit the market officially on July 31 with deliveries starting August 1. Positioned as a spacious and tech-forward SUV, the model began presales on July 10 with a starting price of 279,900 yuan. A battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option is also available, lowering the upfront price to 193,900 yuan.
Design-wise, the ONVO L90 follows NIO's signature styling language, featuring a split-headlight setup with high-definition "Star Route Pixel" interactive lighting. The system supports adaptive high beams, dynamic cornering illumination, and user-defined lighting patterns. A notable highlight is the vehicle's 240-liter front trunk, capable of fitting two standard 20-inch suitcases.
Dimensionally, the ONVO L90 measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,766 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm.
Inside, the ONVO L90 adopts a minimalist, wraparound cabin design that blends warmth and sophistication. Soft-touch surfaces dominate the dashboard, enhanced by real wood trim and satin titanium accents to create a layered and premium feel.
Under the hood, the ONVO L90 is built on NIO's full-domain 900V electrical platform and will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. The RWD version is equipped with a single 340 kW motor, while the dual-motor AWD variant combines a 100 kW front unit with a 340 kW rear motor. Battery options include both LFP and ternary lithium packs, each with a capacity of 85 kWh.
