CRRC Flywheel ESS Power Station Successfully Connected to Grid in Shanxi

On July 22nd, during the Great Heat solar term, the 100MW/50.41MWh standalone ESS power station of CRRC's flywheel energy storage project in Ruicheng, Shanxi Province, was successfully connected to the grid. This project has been included in the first batch of new-type energy storage project construction libraries in Shanxi Province and is the first batch of power frequency regulation energy storage projects in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. It covers an area of 35 mu (approximately 23,333 square meters), and the power station dispatch is named as the 110kV Leixing Energy Storage Power Station, with the transmission line named as the 110kV Leizhu Line. This power station is a standalone ESS power station, utilizing a combination of flywheel energy storage technology and LFP batteries, with a total capacity of 100MW. Among them, the core "black technology" flywheel energy storage has an installed capacity of 50MW/0.41MWh, while the LFP battery energy storage has an installed capacity of 50MW/50MWh. It has jointly constructed a flywheel energy storage device area, an LFP battery electrochemical energy storage system area, as well as supporting comprehensive buildings, booster stations, and electrical control buildings, providing primary frequency regulation auxiliary services for the power system.
