Three trapped after collapse at Red Chris copper mine

A collapse occurred in the underground working area of a non-productive project at Newmont's Red Chris mine, located in the north-west of British Columbia, Canada. Currently, three workers are still trapped underground. Newmont has suspended the mine's operations. The Red Chris mine is expected to produce 20,000 mt in metal content of copper in 2025.
