The two parties pledged to jointly advance the development of a global ecosystem for new energy commercial vehicles.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 22, FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd. ("FAW Jiefang")—the commercial vehicle arm of FAW Group—formally signed an enhanced strategic cooperation agreement with TELD, a major Chinese operator of charging infrastructure, according to a post on FAW Jiefang’s WeChat account.

The two parties pledged to jointly advance the development of a global ecosystem for new energy commercial vehicles, with a focus on accelerating the transition toward low-carbon, sustainable transportation across international markets.

Under the agreement, FAW Jiefang and TELD will integrate their respective strengths to drive forward key initiatives in product deployment, charging infrastructure network expansion, and operational innovation. A core objective is the global rollout of more than 10,000 charging terminals for heavy-duty trucks, the construction of 100 microgrid-based charging stations, and a cumulative charging capacity target of 50 billion kilowatt-hours.

The collaboration also covers multiple fronts. In terms of product innovation, the two sides will co-develop new charging technologies, including high-power and automated charging solutions. On the infrastructure front, the partnership will explore integrated microgrid models that combine solar generation, energy storage, and vehicle-to-grid charging to enhance energy efficiency and utilization.

Digitally, the companies aim to build a joint data-sharing platform to improve maintenance workflows and elevate the user experience. The partnership also has a strong global ambition: both parties will work together to expand into overseas markets, aligning their international strategies and deployment efforts. Additionally, the agreement includes potential capital cooperation initiatives, leveraging both firms’ industry leadership and market influence to deepen long-term strategic synergies.
