On July 23, data from the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat (SECEX) showed that in June 2025, Brazil's exports of finished steel products declined by 43.7% YoY to 64,057 mt (valued at $553.57 million), while imports increased by 11.6% YoY to 402,537 mt (valued at $2.7936 billion). The trade deficit widened to 338,480 mt (compared to 247,009 mt in May), with the deficit in US dollars reaching $2.2401 billion (compared to $1.5884 billion in May). The main exported products were hot-rolled coils (33%) and wire rods (22%), while imports were dominated by coated sheets (39%) and hot-rolled coils (30%).
