According to foreign media reports, Brazilian rare earth miner Meteoric Resources has announced the results of the pre-feasibility study for its Caldeira project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, reaffirming its "world-class" scale and cost.
The pre-feasibility study indicates that the project's construction investment is $443 million, with a mining life of 20 years, an annual ore processing capacity of 6 million mt, an annual production of 13,500 mt of rare earth oxides, and an operating cost of $9-10/kg (TREO).
Based on these costs, the project remains profitable even if the TREO price is $26/kg and the Pr-Nd price is $67/kg.
