[Nissan begins consultations with stakeholders after announcing the closure of its Oppama Plant in Japan by FY2027] Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced on July 18 that, following its announcement on the 15th that the Oppama Plant in Japan would cease production by the end of fiscal year 2027 and that production would be transferred to the Kyushu Plant, the company had immediately begun communicating with key stakeholders. Nissan has initiated dialogues with the local government and is working to establish a cooperative framework with relevant stakeholders. The company held a supplier briefing today to outline the transition plan and share key information, emphasizing the importance of supplier cooperation in ensuring the smooth and coordinated transfer of production. Additionally, formal communications between Nissan and the labor union are expected to commence soon.
