Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 18, 2025, GAC International hosted two major events in Hong Kong—the grand opening of the Yuen Long showroom and the GAC HYPTEC HT Gala Dinner, according to a post on GAC International's WeChat account.

The new moves signal a significant step forward in the company's "Hong Kong ACTION" initiative, which aims to expand both sales channels and brand presence across the region.

The new Yuen Long location marks GAC's eighth showroom in Hong Kong and serves as a strategic move under the initiative's "channel expansion" pillar. This addition strengthens GAC's citywide sales and service network, enhancing accessibility for local customers.

Designed around the concept of blending technology with human-centered experiences, the Yuen Long showroom serves not only as a brand showcase but also as a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services. Located adjacent to the showroom is a dedicated delivery center, where GAC plans to complete deliveries of 300 AION V vehicles this year. The integrated showroom and instant delivery model aims to provide Hong Kong customers with a more efficient and premium new energy vehicle (NEV) ownership experience.

Part of the broader "One GAC 2.0" global strategy, the "Hong Kong ACTION" plan encompasses five key areas: product lineup, sales channels, customer service, energy infrastructure, and mobility solutions. The launch of the Yuen Long showroom supports the goal of establishing a more comprehensive local network, aligning with GAC's previously announced target to add one service center and one showroom by 2025. Meanwhile, the HYPTEC HT Gala, targeting the high-end segment, showcases GAC's commitment to upgrading its product portfolio.

From the unveiling of the "Hong Kong ACTION" initiative at the 2025 International Automobile & Supply Chain Expo (Hong Kong) in June to the back-to-back rollouts in July, GAC is advancing its full-chain export model. Looking ahead, the company plans to further enhance its green mobility ecosystem through initiatives like charging infrastructure expansion and cross–Greater Bay Area service integration, reaffirming its commitment to serving Hong Kong consumers with accessible and sustainable transportation solutions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
