[SMM PV Express] Chinese enterprises are assisting in the construction of PV power plants in Kazakhstan, facilitating its energy structure transformation, achieving emission reduction targets, and promoting local economic development and employment. Starting from March 2025, the construction of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 20 MW began in Shetpe Village, Mangystau Oblast, Kazakhstan, covering an area of 44 hectares. It is expected to commence power generation on September 30. After the project becomes operational, the annual power generation can reach 25 million kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2,500 mt. Chinese enterprises are participating in the construction of this project, creating over 100 construction jobs for the locals. They will also introduce local technical personnel and use fully automatic thermal imaging detection equipment to monitor PV modules. Currently, 48 PV power plants have been constructed across Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity exceeding 1,200 MW. Chinese-funded enterprises have participated in the construction of 7 operational plants and 2 under construction. Both sides are also negotiating new large projects.
