On July 16, the first batch of steel coils from the new energy non-oriented electrical steel sub-plant of the Electrical Steel Department of Baosteel WISCO Co., Ltd. were loaded and shipped out, destined for a manufacturing enterprise in south China, marking the official launch of the plant. The plant was built on the original site of WISCO's No. 2 Steelmaking Plant, which was once one of the core areas of the "1.7-meter" rolling mill project in the 1970s.
The new plant adopts a modern design, with its exterior composed of white environmental protection materials and black dust-proof glass. On one side of the plant, there is an exhibition hall showcasing the plant's area, with the slogan "Building the World's No. 1 Brand of Electrical Steel" displayed in front. Inside the production workshop, over 40 intelligent transport vehicles have replaced traditional cranes, achieving an efficient logistics model where "steel coils do not touch the ground." The commissioning of this plant has become another landmark project in the development of China's steel industry, following the launch of WISCO's No. 1 blast furnace and the "1.7-meter" rolling mill project.
