[ACME Solar Secures Major 275MW/550MWh Energy Storage Contract in India, Andhra Pradesh Introduces New "Availability Payment" Model] Indian renewable energy developer ACME Solar Holdings recently signed two separate Battery Energy Storage System Procurement Agreements (BESPA) with India's National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), with a total capacity of 275MW/550MWh. This project has set a new record for the highest unit price in India's energy storage tenders—the 50MW/100MWh section was awarded at ₹210,000/MW/month (approximately $2,515), while the 225MW/450MWh section reached ₹222,000/MW/month ($2,659). The project has received support from the Indian government's Viability Gap Funding (VGF), with a subsidy standard of $32,335 per MWh or 30% of the total cost (whichever is lower), significantly enhancing the project's economic viability.
