The National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption across society in June.
In June, the total electricity consumption across society was 867 billion kWh, up 5.4% YoY.In terms of electricity consumption by sector, the primary industry consumed 13.3 billion kWh, up 4.9% YoY; the secondary industry consumed 548.8 billion kWh, up 3.2% YoY; the tertiary industry consumed 175.8 billion kWh, up 9.0% YoY; and urban and rural residents consumed 129.1 billion kWh, up 10.8% YoY.
From January to June, the cumulative electricity consumption across society was 4,841.8 billion kWh, up 3.7% YoY, with power generation from industries above designated size reaching 4,537.1 billion kWh. In terms of electricity consumption by sector, the primary industry consumed 67.6 billion kWh, up 8.7% YoY; the secondary industry consumed 3,148.5 billion kWh, up 2.4% YoY; the tertiary industry consumed 916.4 billion kWh, up 7.1% YoY; and urban and rural residents consumed 709.3 billion kWh, up 4.9% YoY.
