The Iraqi government has decided to implement 535 projects across various government institutions, including schools and health centers, to generate electricity through solar energy. This initiative aims to introduce solar energy systems and reduce the country's reliance on traditional power generation methods.
To ensure the sustainability of these systems, over 200 engineers have been trained to serve as liaison members for operation, maintenance, and service. The shift towards solar energy is seen as an urgent necessity to meet rising energy demands and provide sustainable solutions, with the government supporting approximately 90% of national electricity costs. This broader strategy also addresses chronic electricity shortages in Iraq.
