US President Trump strongly urged Russia to reach a ceasefire agreement and warned that if it failed to do so, the US would impose severe secondary tariffs of up to 100%. At the same time, Trump made it clear that the US was willing to engage in extensive consultations with various countries on tariff issues, demonstrating an open attitude towards trade negotiations with multiple parties, including Europe. The European Union (EU) had also planned to send representatives to the US to jointly discuss trade-related topics. Trump further revealed that the US had successfully reached some trade agreements. In addition, he had recently sent letters to leaders of more than 20 countries, notifying them that the US would impose new tariff measures on these countries from a specific date. Trump also announced that, starting from the same date, a 50% tariff would be imposed on all copper products imported into the US.
