Türkiye has acquired two new seventh-generation deepwater drilling vessels to strengthen its hydrocarbon exploration and production efforts, bringing its total drilling fleet to six and making it the fourth-largest deep-sea energy fleet globally. Each ship measures 228 meters in length and 42 meters in width and has been officially transferred to Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) following a sales agreement. According to Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, the first vessel is expected to arrive in Türkiye within two months, with one set to become operational by January and the second by February next year, after necessary accreditation and certification.
