Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 18, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance ("HIMA"), Huawei's smart car alliance, announced that its flagship model, the MAEXTRO S800, has secured over 8,000 units of firm orders within 50 days of the market launch.
Previously, on June 30, HIMA reported more than 6,500-unit orders received in the first month following the model's market debut.
Co-developed by Huawei and JAC Group, the MAEXTRO S800 officially hit the market on May 30. The luxury sedan is available in four variants, with starting prices of 708,000 yuan, 788,000 yuan, 818,000 yuan, and 1.018 million yuan, respectively. The Starlight Premium and the Starlight Executive trims offer both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) versions.
The model saw robust demand immediately upon its market release, recording over 1,000 units of pre-orders within the first hour, 1,600 units in 24 hours, and more than 2,600 units within 72 hours. Within 19 days, cumulative pre-orders had exceeded 5,000 units.
Visually, the MAEXTRO S800 stands out with its innovative smart electric doors, which integrate millimeter-wave and solid-state LiDAR sensors to detect both moving and stationary obstacles, automatically adjusting the opening angle up to 77 degrees. It also features a dynamic welcome light carpet.
The vehicle measures 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,542 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm.
In terms of technology, the MAEXTRO S800 is the first to be equipped with Huawei's ADS 4.0 driver assistance system. Built on the latest WEWA architecture, the vehicle delivers faster responsiveness and smoother lane changes. It also utilizes the industry's first independently developed smart digital chassis platform—Tuling Longxing—which enables predictive handling of bumps and curves, along with intelligent stability control in the event of a tire blowout.
Performance-wise, the MAEXTRO S800 features the HUAWEI DriveOne 800V silicon carbide electric drive system, offering up to 390 kW of power in the dual-motor version and up to 635 kW in the tri-motor version. The extended-range version delivers a combined driving range of 1,333 km, while the all-electric variant offers a CLTC-rated range of up to 702 km.
According to MAEXTRO, deliveries under the "Pioneer Plan" began on June 26, with broader deliveries of other variants scheduled to start in mid-August.
