On July 18, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the new products listed in the 397th batch of the "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Producers and Products," including a new energy vehicle (NEV) from Tesla, presumably the Model 3+ with the "longest" driving range, expected to be launched as early as September. The announcement revealed that the energy storage device for this car model is a ternary lithium-ion battery, produced by LG Energy Solution (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. It is understood that in August 2019, Tesla discontinued the long-range rear-wheel drive version of the Model 3 in China, and the official reason for the discontinuation was not mentioned.
