On July 17, a China-Europe (Asia) freight train carrying approximately 3,000 mt of ferrochrome alloy in 110 containers slowly pulled into the platform line of the storage and operation area at TISCO's procurement center. A grand signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation between TISCO Group and Huayuan Land Port, as well as the inauguration of the China-Europe freight train for imported ferrochrome, was held. This marked the first return freight train for imported ferrochrome from Central Asia, jointly operated by TISCO Group and Huayuan International Land Port Group, symbolizing the official implementation of their strategic cooperation. This initiative represents a practical measure for deep cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local state-owned enterprises to reduce logistics costs and enhance efficiency, and it is also a vivid practice of implementing the national "Belt and Road" Initiative and promoting the upgrading of inland regions' opening-up capabilities.

This return freight train for imported ferrochrome from Central Asia is an international logistics route established by TISCO Group and Huayuan International Land Port Group through precise alignment with mineral resource-rich areas in Central Asia and advanced manufacturing clusters within the province. It aims to drive a two-way linkage between "resource input - industrial upgrading" and empower manufacturing industries to reduce costs and enhance efficiency through China-Europe (Asia) freight trains. Starting from Zhenishke, Kazakhstan, it enters China through the Khorgos Port in Xinjiang, traverses the China-Kazakhstan border, crosses the Hexi Corridor, and arrives at TISCO's plant area after approximately 13 days and a journey of about 4,900 kilometers. The opening of this route will significantly shorten transportation time, reduce logistics costs, and effectively enhance TISCO's production efficiency and the stability of its supply chain. It also marks a leap from "one-way operation" to "two-way circulation" for China-Europe (Asia) freight trains in Shanxi.

Wu Xiaodi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of TISCO Group, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of TISCO to the provincial and municipal units, railway bureaus, customs, banks, and especially the leaders and colleagues of Huayuan Land Port, for their strong support in facilitating the operation of the freight train.

Gu Jianchun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Huayuan Land Port, stated that they would adhere to the concept of entire industry chain cooperation, leverage the advantages of their comprehensive logistics network, and contribute to promoting the deep integration of the logistics industry with the real economy and supporting economic development.

Li Hua, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of TISCO Group, and Xie Pengyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Huayuan Land Port, signed the strategic agreement on behalf of both parties.

Wu Dongsheng, a second-level inspector at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of Shanxi Province, Zhao Zhenwei, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Transportation, Li Guorong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhang Jun, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Taiyuan Group Co., Ltd., Hu Weihua, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Bank of China Shanxi Branch, as well as leaders from units such as Jiancaoping District and Xinghualing District of Taiyuan City, Taiyuan Customs, Jinyang Customs, China Railway Taiyuan Group Co., Ltd., and China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd., participated in the above-mentioned activities.

Gao Feng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of TISCO Group, presided over the event.

Before the holiday, the black chain is unlikely to see a trend-driven market [SMM Steel Industry Chain Weekly Report].
This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
