ThyssenKrupp Reaches Agreement on Production Cuts and Layoffs

On July 16, it was reported that ThyssenKrupp, a German steel manufacturer, had reached an agreement with its trade union on production cuts and layoffs. The company plans to close multiple plant facilities, including blast furnaces and processing plants, in the fiscal year 2026, which will reduce crude steel capacity from 11.7 million mt to 8.7-9 million mt.
