On July 15, BYD announced the official launch of its Smartphone-Vehicle Connectivity feature across its entire vehicle lineup.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 15, BYD announced the official launch of its "Smartphone-Vehicle Connectivity" feature across its entire vehicle lineup. The system is now fully compatible with a wide range of leading domestic smartphone brands—including Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, HONOR, realme, OnePlus, and iQOO—offering users a fully integrated smart mobility experience both inside and outside the vehicle.

Coinciding with the rollout, OnePlus also confirmed on the same day that its latest devices—including the Ace 5 Pro, OnePlus 13T, and OnePlus 13—will fully support BYD's new connectivity function. Users can also customize their experience by selecting preferred apps for screen mirroring.

Meanwhile, OPPO revealed an expansion of its partnership with BYD, enabling its voice assistant, Breeno, to remotely control vehicle functions, and supporting screen projection for a more interactive in-car interface. The collaboration between the two brands began in October last year, with the feature debuting via OTA updates on the DENZA Z9GT, operated through OPPO's Find X8 series smartphones.

BYD's new system supports three major smart mobility ecosystems: Carlink, HUAWEI HiCar, and HONOR’s in-car platform.

Carlink is compatible with devices from OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Redmi, OnePlus, realme, and iQOO. Key features include screen mirroring, privacy mode, seamless navigation transition, music handoff, and large-screen video streaming.

Huawei HiCar offers features such as an integrated desktop interface, screen mirroring, and smooth navigation handover. HONOR's in-car system supports app continuity and made its debut on DENZA vehicles.

BYD notes that compatibility depends on specific smartphone models, OS versions, and in-car system versions. For example, Huawei phones must run HarmonyOS 2.0 or above; HONOR requires MagicOS 9.0.0.169 or later; vivo users need OriginOS 5 and above; OPPO requires ColorOS 15.0; realme must be on UI 6.0 or above; and Xiaomi devices need HyperOS 2.0 or higher.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
